This month at some point we will have a frost. Here’s an article on protecting your garden beds and perennials for winter by mulching.  (hint: decorative bales of straw are on sale at right-aid right now at 75% off) This month the garden is collecting residential leaves on most saturdays as a member of the NYC Leaf Composting Coalition.

UPDATE: November 2009 ends with no frost! While its exciting to be harvesting basil and peppers in December, little shoots are appearing — the plants seem confused by global climate change! And it seems a freeze might get kill off the wooly aphids that are eating our collards!
